This bundle is available exclusively through the Key Model World Shop offering a full five plus two Rail Charter Services HST set for ‘OO’ gauge together with Key Publishing’s HSTs Around Britain, 1990 to the Present Day book.
The new bundle contains Hornby HST power cars 43058 and 43059 (Cat No. R30204) which use the latest Hornby HST tooling together with Mk 3 Trailer Guard First 44081 (R40353), Trailer First 41166 (R40352), Trailer First Disabled 41160 (R40352B), Trailer Restaurant First Kitchen 40804 (R40354) and Trailer First 41187 (R40352A) plus the Key Publishing book.
The Rail Charter Services HST formation was created in 2021 following the success of the ‘Staycation Express’ in 2020. It operated over the Settle and Carlisle line operating from Skipton to Carlisle and return from July 19-September 9 2021, and there are reports suggesting that the set could be used for services on the Central Wales line in the future. The train was maintained at Crewe while the initial repaint was carried out at Eastleigh Works.
The 'OO' gauge HST power cars in the bundle pack use Hornby’s latest generation tooling for the Class 43 and feature a 21-pin decoder socket in each power car, independently powered roof fans, directional lighting, cab lights, twin factory fitted 15mm x 11mm cube speakers in each power car, a five-pole motor with twin flywheels, and correct details for 43058 and 43059 when operating on the Rail Charter Services train.
The coaches are also the latest tooling from Hornby which features body mounted NEM coupling pockets, turned metal wheels with brake disc detail and the option to add Hornby’s Mk 3 trailer Maglight lighting strips, as featured on Key Model World.
