Airfix Supermarine Spitfire MkVb 1:48 Scale

Airfix Supermarine Spitfire MkVb 1:48 Scale

The Airfix 1:48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb features 143 superbly moulded plastic parts to create a scale replica of this iconic warbird.

The Supermarine Spitfire is the most famous of the Second World War fighter aircraft with more than 20,000 across 24 different marks being built. The Mk.V variant was a stop-gap upgrade, but it was also the most heavily produced with 6,487 being completed to serve with the RAF and US airforces.

This highly detailed Airfix kit features all the parts required to create an authentic replica of the Mk.Vb aircraft and the kit includes two sets of decals to model both American and British aircraft. The schemes included are:

  • A05125A - Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb Aircraft flown by Squadron Leader Eric Hugh Thomas, No.133 (Eagle) Squadron, Royal Air Force Biggin Hill, England, April 1942. (B)
  • A05125A - Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb Buckeye Don, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb flown by 2nd Lieutenant Don Gentile, 336th Fighter (A)

A full build of this kit features in AMW137 April 2022 as well as online at Key Model World.

To complete the kit customers will need a craft knife, cutting mat, sanding boards, tweezers, glue and paint to assemble the model.

I started buying Aeroplane Monthly in ‘76 or‘77. By the early 80’s I bought a subscription and I still have it. I love themagazine.
Pretty much the only game in town for the stuff I'm looking for.
