US Army Yearbook 2024

The United States Army is not currently in a declared war, but it is still fighting and struggling on multiple fronts. Its soldiers are fighting small conflicts in Syria and elsewhere against remnants of jihadist and other terrorist groups. The army is simultaneously supporting allies in Ukraine and Israel in their own wars against forces that are also at least nominally anti-American. While it dedicates valuable resources to these efforts, it strives to prepare for possible future wars against peer nations such as China.

This special publication examines the US Army’s global efforts to meet these far-ranging goals. It includes information on current operations, training, and weaponry. Other sections reveal the service’s history and the new weapons and equipment it needs to remain a capable and relevant force in the 21st century.
