Bristol Lodekka Book
Bristol Lodekka
NOTE: This book is a re-issue of the much-loved title Bristol Lodekka in colour.
Lodekka buses first appeared in service in the late 1940s during a period of passenger number growth. The Lodekka was supplied to state-owned transport operators, and 5,217 examples were built between 1949 and 1968, making it one of the most familiar British double-deck bus types throughout the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Featuring a half cab design and step-free access with low height, this bus was in plentiful supply in towns and cities across Great Britain.
This book features a huge number of photographs collectively providing a colourful look at the life and times of the Bristol Lodekka, in its different liveries and locations as it worked the country with a variety of operators.
