PJM Models OO Gauge Laser-Cut Exmouth Junction Signalbox
New to the Key Model World Shop collection from PJM Models is a laser-cut ‘OO’ gauge kit of Exmouth Junction signalbox.
The plywood and MDF kit contains a full set of parts to build the structure of the 1959-built signalbox. The flat roof design replaced the original 1875-built ‘box with the new structure featuring a 64-lever Westinghouse style A3 frame. It controlled movements on and off the Exmouth Branch where it left the Exeter-Salisbury main line.
Today the original lever frame has been replaced with a modern panel, completed in February 1988, which controls the level crossing and signals at Pinhoe as well as overseeing movements on the Exmouth branch.
The laser-cut kit models the exterior of the building – an interior kit will be released at a later date – using a combination of timber parts as well as featuring a full set of laser-cut glazing panels.
Highlights of the model include full-depth glazing panels to represent the gloss finish of the panelling above and below the windows, separate step treads, removable roof and floor panels for future access and multi-layer construction of the main building.
The base of the building measures 182mm x 57mm.
The new kit is in stock now exclusively at the Key Model World Shop.
