GNR Laser-Cut Signalbox Kit for OO gauge
A ‘OO’ scale kit of the Great Northern Railway signalbox at Helpston is the latest addition to the Key Model World Shop exclusive building collection, produced by PJM Models.
The new kit is based on the extended version of Helpston signalbox as it is today – it was expanded in 1923 by the LNER and has since received modifications including changes to the toilet roof shape and new modern glazing at the road end.
The PJM Models' kit models the signalbox with the pitched roof over the toilet, but includes an optional blanking panel to position in front of the outer walkway which is thought to have been added during electrification.
The 'OO' scale laser-cut kit contains plywood and MDF parts together with clear laser-cut glazing as well as roofing tiles and 3D printed finials. The kit requires paint, glue and basic modelling tools - craft knife, sanding board and tweezers - to complete. A fully built and painted version is shown here.
The total size of the building is 164mm x 72mm in ‘OO’ scale and it is available now.
