US Army Yearbook 2023

In 2023, the US Army is simultaneously in a period of transition and conflict. The two-decade War on Terror is winding down, but the Middle East stills beckons American attention. NATO needs the US Army to bolster its eastern flank, long-suffering Africa requires assistance against extremists and even in the Pacific, the realm of naval and air power, the army has a role to fulfil.

While it serves worldwide, the US Army must also modernise, train, and prepare for conflicts to come. This special publication examines the United States Army’s global efforts to meet its far-ranging goals. It includes information on current operations, training, and munitions. There are also sections on the service’s history and the new weapons and equipment it requires to remain a capable and relevant force in the 21st century.
