Hornby’s TT:120 scale rolling stock range continues to develop with the addition of newly tooled LMS Period III carriages. Resplendent in LMS crimson lake for the ‘Big Four’ era, this range of 57’ carriages is a must for new and seasoned modellers alike. Buy now from the Key Model World Shop.

Modernising the carriage fleet of the LMS in the 1930s was a similar priority to CME Sir William Stanier as his acclaimed steam locomotive designs, with new, streamlined diagrams of carriages combining wooden framing with steel cladding. Introduced between 1931 and 1932, the 57 foot ‘Period III’ corridor coaches became the mainstay of LMS passenger trains through to the BR era and could be seen on all types of passenger services far beyond the Midland region.

The LMS Period III Brake Third is included in the all-new Hornby TT:120 57’ range, featuring 5832 in the eye catching LMS lined crimson lake livery for the 1930s (era 3). Featuring a highly detailed bodyshell and chassis, the fine tampo printing also includes intricate window labels.

The perfect companion to Hornby’s TT:120 LMS Duchess Pacifics and also accurate alongside other regions of the ‘Big 4’ period, a realistic LMS train can easily be assembled. With two running numbers for the most widespread types, the new LMS 57’ Brake Third can easily find a home with any TT:120 model railway depicting the heyday of steam in the 1930s and 1940s.
