Engine Shed
Lineside structures make a layout come to life and Hornby’s new TT:120 scale two-road engine shed is ready to plant and the perfect addition for any shed scene on a model railway. Buy now from the Key Model World Shop for £31.99 (RRP £34.49).
Used to shelter locomotives between duties and allow maintenance, engine sheds were often more functional in their design than structures seen by the public but were nonetheless just as important. Once found across Britain’s railways at stations, goods yards and of course locomotive yards, an engine shed also adds operational interest to any model railway.
Based on a Midland Railway stone design and featured along the famous Settle & Carlisle Railway, the new Hornby TT9006 two-road engine shed is a highly detailed and accurate replica of those constructed across the Midlands and north.
Moulded in resin, the engine shed is fully decorated in a smart green and white colour scheme matching Hornby’s TT:120 scale accompanying Settle & Carlisle buildings. A resin shell forms a strong structure, with finely rendered etched metal window frames, clear glazing and accurately detailed stonework, while the shed fits the proprietary double track spacing of TT:120 scale trackwork and can hold two large steam locomotives.
Well suited to modelling any location across the Midland network, the new engine shed is an ideal structure for any layout in TT:120 scale. Perfectly complementing Hornby’s growing range of TT:120 locomotives and Settle & Carlisle structures, this suits any era through to a preserved shed in the present day.
