MLI Plus Issue 237

Issue 237 of Modern Locomotives Illustrated focuses on preserved diesel locomotives. With fewer main line diesel locomotives in regular service, the number of preserved examples has considerably increased in recent years, with 99% of preserved railways now having at least one ‘modern traction’ loco. Today, the quality of the preservation movement is very high, with immaculately restored examples of most classes working on preserved railways throughout the UK. Several preserved locomotives have been overhauled and brought up to present main line standards.
