Hornby’s Scotsman train set is a perfect starting point for a journey into the new and growing world of TT:120 scale. Featuring a stunning replica of a Gresley ‘A1’ 4-6-2, three Pullman carriages and the track and controller, it has everything you need to get started. Buy now from the Key Model World Shop for £224.99 (RRP £249.99).

The Gresley ‘A1’ 4-6-2s were introduced in 1922 and became the flag ship locomotives of the London North Eastern Railway on its formation at the 1923 Grouping.

This complete train set for TT:120 scale from Hornby recreates the 1930s ‘Flying Scotsman’ train with ‘A1’ 2550 Blink Bonny in classic LNER lined apple green livery together with three elaborately decorated Pullman carriages modelling Kitchen First Cecilia, Chloria and Brake Third No. 64.

The locomotive is fully detailed on the outside and features a Next18 decoder socket in the tender together with a 15mm x 11mm cube speaker making it a simple locomotive to upgrade to digital sound with Hornby Triplex Sound Bluetooth decoders or other brands.

The set contains an oval of track with third radius curves measuring 137cm x 91cm which can be expanded with additional track packs from the Hornby TT:120 range. It also has a point and siding, analogue controller, transformer and re-railer.

Product highlights include:

  • Gresley ‘A1’ 4-6-2 2550 Blink Bonny in LNER lined apple green
  • DCC ready locomotive with a Next18 decoder socket
  • Factory fitted 15mm x 11mm cube speaker for simple sound upgrades
