Hornby smallest ready-to-run steam locomotives for TT:120 scale is the Stroudley 'Terrier' 0-6-0T, now released as 655 Stepney in Stroudley Improved Engine green

Model Specification:

  • Based on 2025 A1/A1X Terrier tooling suite
  • Expertly moulded die-cast body and chassis for added realism and weight
  • Number of separately fitted parts, including smokebox door, water filler caps, handrails, lamp irons and buffers.
  • Brass connector rods with metal securing pins
  • Detailed cab interior
  • Pivoting NEM sockets for improved coupling around tight curves
  • Precision-engineered coreless motor for smooth running
  • All-wheel pick-ups
  • Accessory pack
  • Capable of traversing 1st radius curves, but recommended minimum is 2nd radius.

Electronics:

  • 6-Pin DCC Decoder socket compatible with HM7000 system.

Tooling:

  • Stroudley chimney
  • Flush smokebox door
  • Four lamp brackets on front and rear
  • Low bufferstock with no lamp brackets
  • Steam pipes removed
  • Small cab bunker with no coal rails
  • Westinghouse pump fitted.

Livery:

  • LB&SCR Improved Engine Green
  • Maroon chassis
  • Era 2.

The Stroudley 'Terrier' 0-6-0Ts were built between 1872-1880 for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) at Brighton Works. These long-standing Victorian tank engines saw service with the LB&SCR, Southern Railway, British Railways as well as private railways including the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

This new addition to the Hornby TT:120 range offers a new choice of tank engine for Southern Region steam modellers with this example modelling 655 Stepney in LBSCR livery as it was between 1901 and 1912. Features include a detailed cab interior, NEM coupling pockets and a three-pole motor inside while it also has a coal rail bunker.
