Hornby TT:120 BR ex-LNER brake van E140580

Hornby TT:120 BR ex-LNER brake van E140580

The ‘Toad B’ brake van was introduced by the LNER in 1928 and was based on an earlier North Eastern Railway design with its distinctive boarded side duckets (guard’s look-outs). This model represents one of the narrow-planked versions.

A total of 260 were built at Doncaster and, by BR days, could be found all over the former LNER network, though they were soon phased out in favour of more modern versions during the early 1950s.

The BR ex-LNER Brake Van E140580 in TT:120 scale by Hornby is a faithful representation of the distinctive brake vans inherited from the London and North Eastern Railway and widely used during the early British Railways era.

Finished in BR grey with running number E140580, this brake van is equipped with standard TT:120 magnetic couplings, a moulded underframe, and brake rigging with a die-cast chassis.

It pairs perfectly with the new TT:120 J50 Class locomotives (TT3042M) or (TT3026M).

I started buying Aeroplane Monthly in ‘76 or‘77. By the early 80’s I bought a subscription and I still have it. I love themagazine.
Pretty much the only game in town for the stuff I'm looking for.
