Battle For Afghanistan

Battle For Afghanistan

Following the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001, British and US forces entered Afghanistan to support the Northern Alliance in their mission to eject the Taliban and al-Qaeda from Kabul and the wider country.

NATO quickly took responsibility for delivering peace and stability but a hardcore of Taliban fighters opposed Western forces. By 2010 the main effort was on training the Afghan National Army and in 2014 combat operations in the south and much of the country ended.

Then, in 2021 US President Biden announced the withdrawal of all US forces and the Taliban marched on Kabul, forcing the biggest air evacuation since World War Two. October, 2024 will see the tenth anniversary of the end of combat operations in southern Afghanistan. This special publication contains personal accounts from UK and US soldiers and covers many of the main events with never seen before pictures.

I started buying Aeroplane Monthly in ‘76 or‘77. By the early 80’s I bought a subscription and I still have it. I love themagazine.
Pretty much the only game in town for the stuff I'm looking for.
