Swedish Air Force 1926-2026

Swedish Air Force 1926-2026

The Swedish Air Force (Flygvapnet) marks its 100th birthday as an independent force in 2026.

More so than any other small country, Sweden has established a reputation for independence and innovation in the field of military aerospace, fielding its own fighters, bombers, trainers and reconnaissance aircraft.

The products of Saab AB are most associated with Flygvapnet operations, but many other manufacturers from around the world have contributed to Sweden’s air power over the years.

Although Sweden was neutral or non-aligned from the Napoleonic era until the 2000s, its aviators saw active service in World War Two, the Cold War and in peacekeeping operations from the Congo to Afghanistan.

Swedish Air Force 1926-2026, No 87 in the Aviation Archive series, reveals the history of Swedish air power from neutrality to NATO through the use of archive photographs, detailed cutaway drawings and colourful profile paintings.

Pretty much the only game in town for the stuff I'm looking for.
