Hornby’s TT:120 scale rolling stock range continues to develop with the addition of newly tooled LMS Period III carriages. Depicting the popular 1960s period of British Railways, this range of 57’ carriages is a must for new and seasoned modellers alike.

Pre-order today from the Key Model World Shop with a £1 deposit and our customer services team will contact when the model arrives in stock to collect the balance.

Modernising the carriage fleet of the LMS in the 1930s was a similar priority to CME Sir William Stanier as his acclaimed steam locomotive designs, with new, streamlined diagrams of carriages combining wooden framing with steel cladding. The 57 foot ‘Period III’ corridor coaches became the mainstay of LMS passenger trains through to the BR era and could be seen on all types of passenger services far beyond the Midland region.

The Period III Corridor First is included in the all-new Hornby TT:120 57’ range, featuring M1040M in the clean BR lined maroon livery used in the late 1950s and 1960s (era 5). Featuring a highly detailed bodyshell and chassis, the fine tampo printing also includes white curtains and window labels.

The perfect companion to Hornby’s TT:120 LMS Duchess Pacifics, these carriages are also accurate running on other regions of BR, often mixed with Mk1 carriages produced by Hornby. With a large range of appropriate stock available for the ‘late crest’ period of BR, the new LMS 57’ First Corridor can easily find a home with any BR era TT:120 model railway.

Product highlights include:

  • BR Period III 57’ Corridor First M1040M in BR lined maroon
  • Kinematic couplings for reliable running
  • Turned metal wheels
  • Fine detail and realistic printed curtain decoration on all windows

Ideal addition to any late BR (era 5) TT:120 model railway
