Key Publishing and PJM Models’ latest laser-cut kit for ‘OO’ gauge models the distinctive West Coast Main Line signalbox at Norton Bridge.
The 1961-built signalbox was located four miles north west of Stafford to oversee movements through the junction between the Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent lines on the WCML from the routes modernisation.
The ‘box was used for trials of experimental Westinghouse solid-state interlocking before being converted to standard relay-based interlocking and remained in use until closure in 2004, although the lower section remained as a relay room after this date.
The latest exclusive PJM Models laser-cut kit provides all the components required to assemble a scale model of Norton Bridge signalbox. Materials are MDF, plywood, clear sheet and a 3D printed vent. Full instructions and part diagrams are included with the kit which can be built in a modular fashion to allow the signalbox roof to remain removable for access to the interior.
The dimensions of the finished model are 240mm x 150mm x 105mm.
