Regional AirlinersRegional Airliners
Following in the style of the previous Airliner World specials on Boeing and Airbus Jetliners, the latest Regional Airliners special examines one of the largest growth sectors of the commercial aviation market.

The explosion in the popularity of regional airliners has really taken place during the past 10-15 years. This is particularly notable in the USA where many regional airlines have become established serving small communities and linking them to major hub networks across the US.

To meet the increasing needs of these carriers manufacturers such as Canadair (now Bombardier), British Aerospace and Embraer were among the first companies to build aircraft dedicated to the needs of these regional operators. Generally most regional airliners fall in the 30-100 seat category and can be either jet or turboprop powered. More recently both Airbus and Boeing have launched smaller versions of some of their existing airliners in an attempt to capture some of this lucrative market and to satisfy the high-end regional aircraft capacity requirements.

Features include:

  • Regional's History
    ATR, Embraer, Bombardier, Dornier, BAe
  • Rusian Regionals
  • Military Regionals
  • Operators
  • Columbus Regional Airport
  • From the Cockpit

This Airliner World special magazine examines the amazing growth of the regional airliner sector and looks at all of the major aircraft and manufacturers, present and past, that have or are meeting its needs.
